Founded in 2024, NeuMind is aiming to pioneer AI-powered research assistance, aiming to transform how academic discovery is accessed, organized, and leveraged across all disciplines.

Our vision is to integrate cross-disciplinary insights within hours instead of months by embedding advanced categorization directly into our discovery engine, rather than treating fields as isolated domains. We are focused on making research comprehension seamless, working to democratize access to the latest scientific breakthroughs for researchers worldwide.

NeuMind's journey began at the 2023/2024 Durham University Hackathon, where our founding team competed with a singular focus: to develop the best data pipeline for analyzing research trends and understanding the trajectory of global knowledge. After 48 intense hours of coding, our dedication paid off as we secured the prize for best data pipeline. Through our conversations with dozens of researchers from both industry and academia during the event, we've discovered a pressing need for better research discovery tools.

This initial success catalyzed our evolution through the Durham Blueprint Startup Challenge and Durham Venture School, where NeuMind took shape as a comprehensive solution to the research discovery crisis. Through extensive engagement with the research community, including interviews with 176 PhD students and professors, we've uncovered a critical inefficiency in academic research: researchers spend an average of 23% of their time simply finding relevant papers.
